90-Day No Meat Less Salt Challenge and Beyond
Let’s do this !!!
Why 90 days?
The base layer of this challenge is no meat and less salt for 90 days. Yes, 90 days is longer than most challenges we are used to in today’s world. However, this is not some TikTok challenge to learn a new dance, or fad diet of eating nothing but raw grapefruit every day. Its not a “lose weight fast program so you can gain it back a month later” game either. They say it only takes 30 days to form new habits. However, this is about changing our lives for the better in a truly substantial and sustainable way.
Why Not 30 days?
Anyone can give up just about anything for 30 days, even if they are miserable in doing so. But after the first month, that is when things begin to change. Our thought process gets clearer, the dust begins to settle, our bodies are just starting to get healthier, the world around us and inside of us starts to feel better. In this challenge, that is when we start to notice we have more energy and are starting to actually feel better each day, often noticing it as soon as you wake up in the mornings. The first month of not eating meat is all about trying to eat something other than salads and NOT eat meat. By 30 days in, we are just barely starting to get over the worst part of it. Stopping there would be torturing ourselves and then quitting just as the good stuff was about to start.
Why Not 60 days?
By the time we get well into the 2nd month, its not so much about trying to figure out how to survive without eating meat, it becomes more about finding things to eat that we really enjoy. By two months in we have discovered a few things for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, that we really do like and look forward to eating. We have figured out which restaurants have the best plant based options. People around us are getting used to the fact that we are really doing this thing. We are starting to get more things done during the day than we did before. We have probably already lost a pound or a few. That is when we start to notice other changes as well as and start asking ourselves things like, “when did I have my last migraine?” About 2 months in is when we realize our joints feel a bit better than before and our ears stop ringing from high blood pressure. We start to realize we can remember more than we could before and have an easier time recalling information. We are saying YES to more things in life and enjoying them more. We have also saved some money on our food budget and are realizing how much healthier we can eat and with less money. Other people are also just starting to notice something about us is changing. They will start to make some comments about how good we are looking or how fresher our skin looks, etc. There is absolutely no reason to stop there just as the miracles are starting to happen.
Why Not 90 days?
After thinking about all of these things, why not commit to doing it for 90 days? If you really want to change your life, feel better, be healthier, enjoy the world and those around you more, why wouldn’t you be willing to put in 90 days to do so. You have put in a lifetime getting you to where you are today so what is 90 days in the whole scheme of things. This is not about some fleeting idea. This is about true change and turning your life around. If you really want to do that, you will commit to the full 90 days and give it your best shot. You will be pleasantly surprised by all that will happen in that time and how much better you feel within your own skin by the end of those 3 months. So, if you are serious about improving your life (and the world around you as a bonus) then jump in with both feet and lets do this thing!
Take this challenge and share with us your ups and downs and questions. Try some new recipes. Set goals for yourself as well as treats(as long as they are not meat or salty). Remember when those moments hit that you really cannot imagine a life without meat, that if you just stick to it for 90 days, then you can have all the meat you want … IF you still want it by then. However, within a 3-month period, our taste buds begin to change as well. Cutting down on the salt and salty things, less and less salt will have a much stronger salt taste. You will find yourself wanting less and less of it. Our hope is that by the end of the 90 days, you might still want meat occasionally but not so much that you are willing to trade how great you are starting to feel for one more bite of, well anything unhealthy really.
Doing this challenge together allows us to support each other, hold each other and ourselves more accountable and help us get over any stumbling blocks along the way.
Already a vegetarian?
You can still take this challenge and help others along the way. Your goal can be to can add something else in there to really level up your game. You might want to go 90 days without eating highly processed foods or sugars, or maybe just not eating out for 3 months. Whatever you feel like you want to do beyond what you are already doing or maybe you want to try a raw food plan. There are so many things we can do to improve ours lives and only we know what those things are. So again, lets do this thing.

Pass or Fail
There is no pass or fail with this challenge. You will NOT be graded, at least not by me or anyone else on the challenge. It is all about the honor system and you telling me or the group what you want to tell us and you do NOT have to be perfect to continue with the challenge. The better you do with it, the better the results and how you will feel. This is absolutely one of those cases that the more effort you put into it, the better results you will get. If you do it 100% you will definitely see some positive changes happening by the end of the 90 days. If you only do it halfway, you will still notice some mild changes. Every day without meat or extra salt will help some, but not if you overdo it the next day. This is an ongoing lifestyle improvement challenge that is absolutely worth the effort and then some. However, like most worthwhile things in life, you do need to put in effort to see the improvements.
Only YOU will know how well you are doing. Only you will know what changes you are seeing, although others will start pointing them out as well before long if you really give it your all.
Make This Challenge YOUR OWN!
Meet yourself where you are, but don’t give yourself to much of a leave way. It has to be a challenge, a real challenge. If it doesn’t push you to improve, what is the point of it. We recommend setting very specific goals for your challenge. The more detailed you have it, the less convincing any destructive self talk will be along the way. We also recommend picking a date that matters most to you or the 1st of the month, whichever comes FIRST and sticking to it then. Do not give yourself to long to start it, or you might actually talk yourself out of it. The sooner you can start, the better. If you have a bunch of stuff in your house that you will need to exclude from your diet, remove it from your fridge either by giving it away to someone else, putting it in the freezer to eat later or as a last resort eat it and then start your challenge. The latter is what most people do and that is certainly fine, but just don’t over indulge to much as it doesn’t matter when or why you do that, its very unhealthy for you. It will NOT be easy. If it was, we wouldn’t call it a challenge, but it is far more worth it than most of you can imagine right now. Lets do this thing. Pick a start date. Even today works! The very moment you start eating healthy, is the very moment your life will begin to improve, so make it your own. Do it for you! Do it for your family. Do it for the greater good of everyone in your life, most of all yourself!!
How much does it cost?
This is not one of those things that pull you in and then hit you with some monthly charge. This program is FREE. It is FREE now. It will be FREE tomorrow, next week, next month, next year! We are building a support community here, nothing more, nothing less. In fact, you will most likely start saving money as you go along, especially once you figure out which vegetables you really do like as opposed to the ones that you let sit in the fridge and go off. Yes, we all do that from time to time. But as you get better at not doing that, you will really start to save significant amounts of money.
